How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like something just isn't right - therapy can help. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from speaking with a psychologist. How long will I need to come to therapy?

How much does a session cost?

Private fees start from $220 for new clients. Medicare rebates are available for eligible clients who hold a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from their GP, reducing the out-of-pocket cost significantly. Please contact us for full fee information or to discuss your funding options.

Can I claim a Medicare rebate?

Yes - if you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP, you are eligible for a Medicare rebate on up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year. Kim is a registered Medicare provider. The rebate is processed after your session and returned to your nominated bank account.

How do I get a Mental Health Care Plan?

Book an appointment with your GP and let them know you'd like to be referred to a psychologist. Your GP will assess your needs and, if appropriate, prepare a Mental Health Care Plan. You can then bring this plan to your first session with Kim. If you're unsure, Kim can guide you through the process.

Do you accept private health insurance?

Yes. Many private health funds provide rebates for psychology sessions under their extras cover. The amount varies depending on your fund and level of cover. We recommend checking with your insurer directly to confirm your entitlements.

What payment methods are accepted?

Payment is accepted via credit card, debit card, and bank transfer. Payment is due at the time of your session. Receipts are provided for Medicare and private health insurance claims.

Yes. Kim offers secure video sessions via Telehealth, available to anyone across Australia. Telehealth sessions are just as effective as in-person sessions for most presentations and are a great option if distance or travel is a concern, or if you simply prefer the convenience of being seen from home.

In-person sessions are held in Narre Warren, Victoria. The exact address will be provided upon booking confirmation.

What is your cancellation policy?

We ask for at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will incur a 50% cancellation fee. We understand that life happens - if something unexpected comes up, please reach out as soon as possible.

How often will I need to come?

Most clients start with weekly or fortnightly sessions. As you progress, sessions may become less frequent. Kim will work with you to find a rhythm that suits your needs, schedule, and goals.

Yes. Everything discussed in your sessions is strictly confidential. Kim is bound by the Australian Psychological Society's Code of Ethics and relevant privacy legislation. Your information will never be shared without your consent, except in very limited circumstances required by law - such as if there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or others.

Will my GP be told what I discuss in sessions?

If you have a Mental Health Care Plan, Kim is required to send a brief progress report to your GP after your 6th and 10th sessions. These reports are general in nature and focus on your progress and treatment goals - not the details of what you've shared. Kim will always discuss this with you beforehand.

How is my personal information stored?

Your personal and clinical information is stored securely in accordance with Australian privacy law and the APS Code of Ethics. MSC Psychology uses a secure, encrypted practice management system.

Does Kim work with WorkCover clients?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Kim is registered to provide psychological services to clients with an accepted WorkCover claim. If your claim includes psychological treatment, Kim can support your recovery. Please bring your claim details and insurer contact information to your first session.

Can I see Kim through the TAC?
